Hey everyone! So I know not all of you read my blog very consistently (unless you have some sort of browser that doesn’t register views and such) but I sincerely want to thank the 15 people who’ve Followed me. It really means a lot know someone “liked” a post, knowing it might have helped or encouraged them in some way. So thank you so much!
“Just then his disciples came back. They marveled that he was talking with a woman, but no one said, “What do you seek?” or, “Why are you talking with her?””
What I noticed were the words “Just then“. I’ve always glossed over them, but this time it struck me as a little different. The writer (John) chose to make the distinction of timing very clear, and I was wondering why.
So i took my study Bible, read John MacArthur’s notes on the verse, and He and I had the same line of thinking.
If the disciples came any earlier, there would probably be a lot of distraction and the conversation may not have had the same outcome. Conversely, if they had come any later, they wouldn’t have heard His profound claim of Messiah-ship. (Verse 26)
Though It’s a small thing I noticed, It’s still cool how God’s providence works out even the littlest details for His glory!
